What we like

  • +Spin rate and spin axis measured directly off RPT balls, not modeled from a short indoor flight: the published difference from every radar-only unit under $1,000
  • +An independent 2026 indoor comparison puts driver carry within about 2 yards and wedges within about 3
  • +The $599.99 lifetime Premium plan costs exactly three years of the annual rate, so the running cost has a ceiling for anyone who keeps it past year three
  • +Sits behind the ball, so right- and left-handed players share the bay without moving the unit, and it works outdoors at the range
  • +Official GSPro integration through the Premium plan's third-party connections, alongside E6 Connect and Awesome Golf

Watch out for

  • −Measured spin, club path, angle of attack, Impact Vision, course play, and third-party connections are all Premium features: the $199.99/yr is not optional for the numbers this unit is bought for
  • −Needs 6.5-8.5 feet behind the ball plus at least 8 feet of flight, 14.5 feet of room depth at minimum and 21.5 feet recommended
  • −Spin reads require RPT marked balls: three ship in the box, $69.99 a dozen after
  • −Runs from an iOS or Android device only, not a PC, and the GSPro integration doesn't read putts
  • −The sticker moves: $599.99 in July, $549.99 for a sale that ended 10/07/2026, $699.99 list

Dual cameras plus radar, measured spin off marked balls, and a membership that holds most of what the hardware is bought for. The $699.99 sticker is the smaller number on this page; the plan that unlocks the spin is the decision.

What the published data says

The MLM2PRO is a radar unit with two cameras on top. That combination decides both its strength and its footprint. The cameras film impact at 240 frames per second and read the markings on RPT balls, which is how this unit measures spin rate and spin axis directly instead of calculating them from a few feet of indoor flight. Under $1,000, that's the published feature that separates it from the Garmin R10 and the other radar-only units.

The radar is why it still needs a long room. PlayBetter's space guide puts the unit 6.5 to 8.5 feet behind the ball with at least 8 feet of flight in front. That's 14.5 feet of depth at the bare minimum and 21.5 feet recommended, about the same as the R10. The two cameras don't buy back any depth.

Accuracy holds up in independent coverage. A 2026 indoor comparison against the Swing Caddie SC4 puts the MLM2PRO's driver carry within about 2 yards and wedges within about 3. One caveat: that comparison, like most coverage at this price, is published by a site that earns commission. It's a corroborating source, not a lab result.

The membership is the monitor

Here is the part the spec sheet blurs. Rapsodo's own feature table puts measured spin rate, spin axis, club path, angle of attack, Impact Vision, the 30,000-course library, and the GSPro/E6/Awesome Golf connections behind Premium. Rapsodo says the unit has basic features without the plan, and that's true. But the numbers that justify choosing this over a $499.99 radar unit are the ones the plan unlocks.

So the honest price of the MLM2PRO is the monitor plus a plan, and there are three plans:

  • $199.99 a year, which is what the receipt below carries
  • $329.99 for two years, about $165 a year
  • $599.99 lifetime, which is exactly three years of the annual rate

Rapsodo marked the two-year and lifetime prices as offers ending 10/14/2026. If you expect to hit balls through three winters, lifetime is the cheaper path. The 45-day trial that ships with the unit auto-renews for a full year unless you cancel it, so make the choice before day 45.

The all-in receipt

$699.99 for the monitor at list, $295 for the Net Return Jr. V2, $599.99 for the SimStudio mat, $199.99 for Premium year one, and $69.99 for a dozen RPT balls beyond the three in the box. $1,865 all-in. That's $400 more than the Garmin R10's $1,465 garage build, and it carries the same net and mat. The difference is the sticker plus the plan.

Cost per round in year three is $4.84: the all-in, plus two more years of Premium, over 468 sim rounds. Break-even against a weekly $65 green fee is 7 months. The $599.99 lifetime plan in place of annual billing changes neither figure much through year three. After that, it's the cheaper line.

The receipt uses the $699.99 list price on purpose. The MLM2PRO was $599.99 in July and $549.99 for a sale that ended 10/07/2026, which put the build at $1,715 for one week. A page that has to be right next month can't anchor its math to a price that expired the day it published. Expect another sale. Check the live price before you buy.

Who should skip it

Anyone who wants the best numbers without a subscription. The Square Golf measures spin with cameras beside the ball, publishes a 10-foot room, and charges $0 a year for its software. And anyone whose room is under 14.5 feet deep, because the MLM2PRO's placement can't change: it reads from behind the ball or it doesn't read.

Two smaller ones. The unit runs from a phone or tablet only, not a PC, though GSPro runs on its own PC alongside. And the GSPro integration doesn't read putts.

Consider instead

  • Garmin Approach R10: radar with an optional $99.99/yr membership, $1,465 all-in; the R10 vs MLM2PRO comparison runs the three-year math head to head
  • Square Golf: camera spin in a 10-foot room with no subscription, $1,399 all-in
  • SkyTrak ST MAX: measured spin from beside the ball in a 10-foot room, $5,578 all-in

Frequently asked

Can you use the MLM2PRO without a subscription?
Technically, yes. Rapsodo says the unit has basic features without Premium. But its own feature table puts measured spin, spin axis, club path, angle of attack, Impact Vision, the 30,000-course library, and the GSPro/E6/Awesome Golf connections on the Premium side. Without the plan, it's a distance-and-speed monitor at a camera-unit price. Budget the $199.99/yr as part of the purchase, not an add-on.
Is the lifetime membership worth it?
On the arithmetic, it's a three-year bet. $599.99 lifetime against $199.99 a year breaks even at exactly year three, and every year after is free. The two-year plan at $329.99 is the cheaper hedge if you're not sure the setup survives two winters. Rapsodo marked both the two-year and lifetime prices as offers ending 10/14/2026, so check what's current before you choose.
Do I need RPT balls?
For spin, yes. PlayBetter's product page says RPT balls are required to show spin numbers at all, not just to improve them. Three ship in the box; a dozen Titleist Pro V1 RPT runs $69.99 at Rapsodo. Regular balls still give you distances and speed.
How much room does the MLM2PRO need?
More than its two cameras suggest. PlayBetter's space guide puts it 6.5-8.5 feet behind the ball with at least 8 feet of flight in front, so 14.5 feet of depth at minimum and 21.5 recommended, with 10 feet of width and a 9-foot ceiling. The cameras capture impact video and spin markings, but the unit still sits where radar sits.
Does the MLM2PRO work with GSPro?
Yes, through an official integration in the MLM2PRO app's third-party connections, which need Premium. GSPro itself is another $250/yr and wants a Windows PC with an RTX 3060-class GPU. Its integration doesn't support putting, so plan on auto-putt or a separate putting workaround.
