The short answer
Six complete home packages ran from $3,894.99 to $7,308 on November 3, 2026, and none lists a gaming PC. At those prices the package was cheaper than an itemized build around the same monitor: SKYTRAK's ST MAX Standard Studio 10 ft was $4,195 against $5,223.79 for our Practice Bay. Build your own when you already own parts or need a size or mat a package does not offer.
Who this suits
- Your room meets the seller's published minimums and you would rather not match a screen, frame, projector and mat yourself
- You have settled on a monitor and want one order and one seller for the enclosure around it
- You have priced the software renewal and the PC, not only the package
Who should look elsewhere
- You have not chosen a monitor yet: start with the launch monitor roundup, because a package locks that choice in
- You already own a projector, mat or enclosure, because you would pay again for parts you have
- You want a net bay with no screen or projector: the Garage Net build costs far less
A launch monitor measures the shot. A complete package adds the enclosure, impact screen, projector and mat you need to play on a screen at home. This page compares six real packages and the arithmetic against building one yourself. To choose the monitor first, use the launch monitor roundup. For line-by-line room costs, use the cost guide.
Everything below comes from seller pages read on November 3, 2026. No package was tested, and accuracy claims are the sellers’ own. None of the packages is an offer on this site, so the package links below are plain reference links.
The six packages
Ordered by checked price. Compare-at prices are the sellers’ own figures. Every package here was listed below its compare-at price, so treat these numbers as dated.
| Package (entry size) | Seller | Launch monitor and tracking | Price (USD) | Seller’s compare-at (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Square Golf with PlayBetter SimStudio COMPLETE, 8 or 10 ft[10] | PlayBetter | Square Golf; PlayBetter describes a high-speed camera with machine vision[11] | $3,894.99 | $4,694.99 |
| SKYTRAK ST MAX Standard Studio, 8 or 10 ft[4] | SKYTRAK | ST MAX; SKYTRAK says dual Doppler radar and photometric cameras | $4,195 | $5,495 |
| Launch Pro Simulator Bundle, 8 or 10 ft[1] | Bushnell Golf | Launch Pro Circle B; three cameras | $4,499.99 | $6,499.99 |
| SkyTrak ST MAX with PlayBetter SimStudio COMPLETE, 8 or 10 ft[9] | PlayBetter | ST MAX; as above | $4,695 | $7,495 |
| SIM IN A BOX Play 10 ft - GC3[2] | Foresight Sports | GC3; triscopic high-speed cameras[24] | $6,499 | $11,999 |
| EYE MINI LITE SIMKIT 10FT[12] | Uneekor | EYE MINI LITE; two infrared photometric cameras, ground unit | $7,308 | $7,608 |
Bushnell’s bundle page showed $4,499.99 for the default 8 ft option, and the store’s product data showed $4,499.00 for the 10 ft option. Prices exclude tax. Foresight says tax and freight are not included in the price shown.[2] Other shipping terms are covered below where the seller’s page states them.
Handedness is not published on any of the six package pages. PlayBetter’s guide says that with side-placed monitors such as the Launch Pro and GC3, switching between right- and left-handed players means moving the monitor to the other side of the ball.[21] SKYTRAK suggests an extra 1 to 2 ft of width if both will use the simulator.[5] Ask the seller about mat and tee position if you are left-handed.
What is in the box, and what is not
| Package | Enclosure and screen | Mat and turf | Projector | Also listed | Not included |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Square SimStudio COMPLETE | Enclosure and impact screen | 5 x 5 ft mat, putting/landing turf | Optoma ZW350ST | Side barriers | PC or tablet. Tablet stand is +$25, GT2300HDR projector +$500 |
| ST MAX Standard Studio | Steel frame, enclosure, stretch screen | 5 x 5 ft mat | Optoma ZW350ST | Floor projector mount on the 8 ft size only | PC or tablet, side nets (not listed), putting turf (Premium Studio adds it) |
| Launch Pro Simulator Bundle | Simulator enclosure | 5 x 5 ft turf mat | 1080p projector, model not named | Side net protection, computer cart, keyboard, 6 ft HDMI, power strip, 48 club markers | Gaming PC: “required to power simulation software” |
| ST MAX SimStudio COMPLETE | Enclosure, frame, stretch screen | 5 x 5 ft mat, putting/landing turf | Optoma ZW350ST | Side barriers, protective case | PC or tablet. GT2300HDR is +$500 |
| SIM IN A BOX Play 10 ft - GC3 | Frame, impact screen | Hitting mat, size not stated | Projector, model not named | Side nets, sandbags, computer cart | Gaming PC. Installation is a separate add-on |
| EYE MINI LITE SIMKIT 10FT | Carl’s Place DIY kit, 8 x 10.5 ft, EMT frame included | 4 x 10 ft EZ Tee mat, 11.5 x 8 ft SimTurf | BenQ AH30ST 1080p | Flush ceiling mount, 30 ft HDMI | PC, listed as required and not in the box. Side barriers not listed |
Two things to read closely. “Complete” has no shared meaning across sellers, so compare the rows, not the word. And the projector line matters: SKYTRAK and PlayBetter name the same Optoma ZW350ST, Uneekor names a BenQ, while Bushnell and Foresight do not name a model on the pages read.[1][2]
SKYTRAK’s Premium Studio was $4,695 for 8 or 10 ft and adds embedded putting turf.[22] PlayBetter’s COMPLETE, at the same $4,695, also lists side barriers and a case.[9] Uneekor also sells an EYE MINI SIMKIT 10FT at $8,359, compare-at $9,359, with the same enclosure, mat and projector around the portable EYE MINI.[13]
Same monitor, different seller is worth checking. PlayBetter’s COMPLETE packages with the Launch Pro started at $6,799.99[15] and with the GC3 at $7,195,[16] against $4,499.99 and $6,499 from the makers directly. Contents differ, so compare them line by line.
Room guidance by package
A package fits your budget before it fits your room. Screen or projector throw, swing clearance and monitor placement are separate checks, and none of these numbers guarantees a fit or a safe swing. Swing your longest club in the actual room before you buy.
| Package | Enclosure, W x H x D | Published room guidance | Ceiling note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square SimStudio, 10 ft | 10 ft x 8 ft 6 in x 5 ft 4 in | For the package: Not published. For the monitor, PlayBetter says about 10 ft wide, 10 ft deep, 9 ft tall[11] | SKYTRAK’s general guidance is below |
| ST MAX Standard Studio 10 | 10 ft x 8 ft 6 in x 5 ft 4 in | Minimum 11 ft W, 16 ft D, 9 ft H; ideal 12 to 14 ft W, 17 to 20 ft D, 9 to 10 ft H[5] | 10 ft is typically ample, per SKYTRAK; many golfers say 9 ft |
| ST MAX Standard Studio 8 | 8 ft x 7 ft 5 in x 4 ft | Minimum 8.5 ft W, 15 ft D, 8 ft H; SKYTRAK adds that a standard golfer needs at least 9 ft of ceiling and 10 ft of width to swing a driver[5] | Read both numbers |
| Launch Pro Bundle, 10 ft | 10 ft x 8 ft 6 in, 17 ft long | Minimum 12 ft W, 18 ft D, 9 ft ceiling[1] | |
| Launch Pro Bundle, 8 ft | 8 ft x 7 ft 6 in, 17 ft long | Minimum 10 ft W, 18 ft D, 8 ft ceiling[1] | Compare with SKYTRAK’s driver note above |
| ST MAX SimStudio COMPLETE, 10 ft | 10 ft x 8 ft 6 in x 5 ft 4 in | Not published for the package[9] | |
| SIM IN A BOX Play 10 ft | 10 ft x 8 ft 6 in; enclosure depth 5 ft 4 in; 20 ft full depth including projector[2] | Room width and ceiling: Not published | |
| EYE MINI LITE SIMKIT 10FT | 8 x 10.5 ft kit | Not published. Uneekor says to ensure enough space to swing a driver safely, indoors only[12] | Flush ceiling mount is included |
Check the space guide if your numbers are close to any of these.
Software and subscription
This is where package prices stop being comparable. Software lines below are the sellers’ listings, and the totals are our calculation.
| Package | Software at purchase | What renewal looks like | Runs on |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square SimStudio COMPLETE | 1,000 welcome credits for course play; range and practice modes free[10] | No subscription per PlayBetter; credit prices after the welcome amount: Not published on the pages read | PC, phone or tablet per PlayBetter[10] |
| ST MAX Standard Studio | 14-day Essential trial; SKYTRAK’s page offered Core Foresight free for a year through November 12[4] | Essential $99.99, Core (FS) $299.99, Core (TM) $349.99, Elite $599.99 a year[6] | Windows PC, Apple M1 or better, Android; no iPhone for course play[4] |
| Launch Pro Bundle | 30-day trial of Foresight+ and Course Pass[1] | Silver $199, Gold $599 a year; Course Pass $295 or Course Pass Pro $595 a year[3] | Gaming PC required[1] |
| ST MAX SimStudio COMPLETE | 14-day Essential trial plus one year of Foresight course play, stated value $250[9] | As ST MAX Standard Studio | As ST MAX Standard Studio |
| SIM IN A BOX Play 10 ft | 30-day trial of Foresight+ Gold and Course Pass Pro[2] | Same Foresight+ prices[3] | Gaming PC; Foresight recommends Core Ultra 7, RTX 5070 Ti, 32 GB RAM[2] |
| EYE MINI LITE SIMKIT 10FT | One year of GSPro and GAMEDAY, three months of Ultimate; the page also lists a one-year Pro package[12] | Free Player tier; Pro $199, Pro+ with GSPro $299, Champion $399, Ultimate $599 a year[12] | PC required; Uneekor lists an RTX 4070 Ti, 32 GB RAM[12] |
Three details change the budget:
- Foresight+ and third-party software. Foresight says Gold members can buy and use GSPro with a separate GSPro subscription, and that third-party software like GSPro is not supported on Silver or free accounts.[3] That applies to both the Launch Pro and GC3 packages. Bushnell also says Silver and Gold now include club data, and PlayBetter says a Foresight+ subscription is required to access Launch Pro club data.[1][15]
- Memberships renew. Foresight+ bills annually, auto-renews on the card provided, and sales are final.[3] Decide what you want before the trial ends.
- GAMEDAY needs two displays. Uneekor’s page says two monitors are required for GAMEDAY, and the SIMKIT includes one projector.[12] Count that year of GAMEDAY only if you have a second display.
Here is the first-year cost of playing courses, with the computer left out so the comparison is even. SimCosts calculation. It excludes tax, shipping, installation and the PC.
| Package | Package (USD) | First-year course-play software (USD) | Subtotal (USD) | Assumed yearly renewal (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Square SimStudio COMPLETE | $3,894.99 | $0, welcome credits | $3,894.99 | Not published |
| ST MAX Standard Studio 10 | $4,195 | $299.99 Core (FS), or $0 under SKYTRAK’s sale through November 12 | $4,494.99 | $299.99 |
| ST MAX SimStudio COMPLETE 10 | $4,695 | $0, year included | $4,695 | $299.99 |
| Launch Pro Bundle | $4,499.99 | $494, Silver $199 + Course Pass $295 | $4,993.99 | $494 |
| SIM IN A BOX Play 10 ft | $6,499 | $494, Silver $199 + Course Pass $295 | $6,993 | $494 |
| EYE MINI LITE SIMKIT 10FT | $7,308 | $0, GSPro year included | $7,308 | $299, Pro+ with GSPro |
The renewal figures are our assumptions about the plan you would pick. The ST MAX renewal uses SKYTRAK’s Core (FS) price, not the $250 stated value on PlayBetter’s listing. Choosing GSPro on a Foresight+ device instead means Gold at $599 plus GSPro’s $250 listed Version 3 price,[26] or $849 in the first year, which takes the Launch Pro Bundle to $5,348.99 and the SIM IN A BOX to $7,348.
Add the PC. Our Dedicated Room build uses a $1,100 PC estimate, which is a SimCosts estimate, not a quote. PlayBetter’s simulator PCs started at $2,249 on November 3, 2026,[19] and Foresight’s recommended specification is demanding,[2] so price the machine against the seller’s list before you trust our estimate. At $1,100, the Launch Pro Bundle’s subtotal becomes $6,093.99 and the SIM IN A BOX’s becomes $8,093.
Shipping, returns and setup
Sellers treat packages differently from monitors, and this is worth reading before you order.
- Bushnell. The monitor ships by FedEx and the components by trucking company, usually 2 to 3 weeks in total, and the pallet-sized package is placed outside your home. Cancellations after 24 hours incur a $250 fee. The monitor can be returned within 30 days with a 20% restocking fee. Components in the package are not returnable, and software sales are final.[1]
- Foresight. You can cancel within 24 hours at no charge. After that there are no refunds: a $250 cancellation fee is deducted and the remainder stays as account credit. The frame needs no tools, per Foresight.[2]
- SKYTRAK. 30-day return period. Studio packages are not eligible for free return labels, you pay return shipping, and a restocking fee of up to 40% can apply to products that cannot be resold as new.[7] Geek Squad installation was $995 for the 8 and 10 ft studios and $1,495 for the larger two, and it excludes PC setup and ceiling projector mounts.[8]
- PlayBetter. The ST MAX COMPLETE listing shows free ground shipping in regular boxes and 60-day returns.[9] The Square listing limits the Square Golf unit itself to 30-day returns.[10] Confirm the terms for the whole package before you order.
- Uneekor. Authorized returns carry a 15% restocking fee. New launch monitors can be returned up to the earlier of 15 days after license activation or 60 days after receipt, and new accessories up to 15 days after receipt. The policy does not address SIMKITs separately.[14]
Build your own, or buy the package
For the same monitor, an itemized build cost more than the package on every comparison below. This is the arithmetic, and it runs against what you might expect. Here is the build the first comparison uses.
Practice Bay: $5,224
Camera monitor, framed enclosure, short-throw projector and mat.
| Line | Type | Price (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| SkyTrak ST MAX | Equipment | $1,695.00 |
| Carl's Place DIY enclosure kit with screen | Equipment | $1,385.94 |
| Carl's Place pre-cut pipe kit, 7.7 x 10 ft | Equipment | $467.95 |
| Optoma ZW350ST projector | Equipment | $909.00 |
| Carl's Place HotShot mat, 5 x 8 ft | Equipment | $765.90 |
| Foresight course play, first year Included on the ST MAX listing checked 2026-11-03. Do not add it again. | Software, first year | $0.00 |
| All-in, before tax and shipping | $5,223.79 | |
SimCosts calculation from listed prices checked November 3, 2026. Excludes tax, shipping and any room work. Year-three cost per round: $12.44, assuming $299.99 a year in renewals. Break-even against green fees: about 18.5 months.
| Monitor | Itemized build (USD) | Package (USD) | Build costs this much more (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ST MAX | Practice Bay $5,223.79 | SKYTRAK Standard Studio 10, $4,195 | $1,028.79 |
| ST MAX | Practice Bay $5,223.79 | PlayBetter SimStudio COMPLETE 10, $4,695 | $528.79 |
| Launch Pro | $6,028.78 | Bushnell Bundle, $4,499.99 | $1,528.79 |
| GC3 | $7,527.79 | Foresight Play 10 ft, $6,499 | $1,028.79 |
| Square Golf | $4,062.87 | PlayBetter SimStudio COMPLETE 10, $3,894.99 | $167.88 |
The Practice Bay’s parts around the monitor add up to $3,528.79: $1,385.94 for the kit, $467.95 for pipes, $909 for the projector and $765.90 for the mat. SKYTRAK’s Standard Studio implies $2,500 for the same job, if you value the ST MAX at PlayBetter’s $1,695. Swapping the HotShot mat for the $599.99 SimStudio mat only brings the build down to $5,057.88, still $862.88 above the Standard Studio.
The two are not identical. The Practice Bay has a Carl’s Place kit and a larger 5 x 8 ft mat; the Standard Studio has a 5 x 5 ft mat and a steel frame. The first-year software also differs: the ST MAX listing at PlayBetter bundles a year of Foresight course play, and SKYTRAK’s sale offer on the Studio ran through November 12.
The same comparison holds at the higher end. Our Dedicated Room build, with the EYE MINI and a Carl’s Place Pro kit, was $10,689.95. Uneekor’s EYE MINI SIMKIT 10FT at $8,359, plus the same $1,100 PC estimate and $299 for Uneekor’s Pro+ plan with GSPro, comes to $9,758, which is $931.95 less, with a DIY kit rather than the Pro kit and a different mat and projector.[13]
Who should build their own
Build when one of these applies, because each one changes the arithmetic or the fit:
- You already own part of it. Own a projector and a mat and the Practice Bay falls to $3,548.89 ($5,223.79 less $909 and $765.90), which is $646.11 under the Standard Studio. A package would have you pay for those again. If you own the monitor instead, compare $3,528.79 for the build’s parts with PlayBetter’s SimStudio COMPLETE with no monitor, listed from $3,195.[20]
- Your room is not one of the package sizes. The packages here come in widths from 8 to 13 ft, depending on the seller. A Carl’s Place DIY kit is sold in several sizes with pipes sold separately,[25] which helps with a room that sits between sizes. The DIY guide walks through it.
- You want a specific mat. A package’s 5 x 5 ft mat may be too small for you. The Carl’s HotShot in the Practice Bay is larger, and replacement strips let you renew the worn area without replacing the mat.[23]
- You want to spread the spend. You can buy the monitor and a net now and add a screen later. The Garage Net build was about $1,465 before tax and shipping on November 3, 2026, and it has no screen or projector.
- You want return flexibility on parts. Bushnell’s package components are not returnable, and Foresight’s order terms are strict.[1][2] Check each retailer’s terms, because buying separately means several return policies rather than one.
Buy the package when none of these applies, your room clears the published minimums, and you want one seller answering for how the parts fit together.
Net packages, if you do not need a screen
A net package is cheaper, and it is a different thing: no impact screen and no projector, so you supply your own display for course play. PlayBetter’s ST MAX with The Net Return was $2,390 with the Home Series V2 net only, or $3,094 with the turf package, which it says includes turf, side barriers and sandbags.[17] Foresight’s SIM IN A BOX Net listed $2,899 with a GC2 and $8,199 with a GC3,[18] which is higher than the $6,499 enclosure package with the same monitor on the same collection page, so read those listings side by side. Our practice net roundup covers the nets alone.
How to choose
Use these criteria in order. They are not a ranking.
- Pick the monitor first. A package locks it in. The launch monitor roundup covers that choice.
- Measure the room. Width, depth and ceiling against the table above, then swing your longest club in the space.
- Price the second year. Under about $300 a year on SKYTRAK’s Core (FS) or Uneekor’s Pro+, and $494 for course play on Foresight+, on the prices checked.
- Price the computer. Bushnell, Foresight and Uneekor state it is required and not included.
- Read the return terms. Especially on the Bushnell and Foresight packages.
If checked package price is your only criterion, the Square SimStudio COMPLETE was $3,894.99. If you want the ST MAX, SKYTRAK’s Standard Studio was $4,195 and PlayBetter’s COMPLETE, with side barriers and turf, was $4,695. If you want a year of GSPro with the purchase, the EYE MINI LITE SIMKIT listed it at $7,308. If you want Foresight software, the Launch Pro Bundle was $4,499.99 and the GC3 package was $6,499.
Check any listing before you order. These were prices on the day they were read, and each was below the seller’s compare-at figure.
Common questions
What is included in a complete home golf simulator package?
On the six packages here: a launch monitor, an enclosure or frame with an impact screen, a hitting mat and a projector. Side nets, landing turf, a computer cart and a mount vary by package. None of the six lists a gaming PC, and most include only a short software trial, so check what the second year costs.
Do complete golf simulator packages include a computer?
None of the six on this page lists one. Bushnell, Foresight and Uneekor state that a PC is required. SKYTRAK publishes Windows, Apple M1 and Android requirements, and PlayBetter's Square Golf listing covers PC, phone and tablet use, so those two may not need a gaming PC for every use.
Is it cheaper to build your own golf simulator or buy a package?
At the prices checked on November 3, 2026, buying the package was cheaper around the same monitor. Our Practice Bay build with the ST MAX was $5,223.79, against $4,195 for SKYTRAK's Standard Studio 10 ft. The contents differ, and the build gets cheaper quickly if you already own a projector or mat.
How much room do I need for a complete package?
It depends on the package. Bushnell recommends at least 12 ft wide, 18 ft deep and a 9 ft ceiling for its 10 ft enclosure. SKYTRAK lists a minimum of 11 ft wide, 16 ft deep and 9 ft high for its Studio 10. Foresight gives a 20 ft full depth including the projector. Uneekor publishes no room size for its SIMKITs. Swing your longest club in the actual room before you buy.
What does the software cost after the trial?
For Foresight and Bushnell packages, course play through Foresight+ was $199 a year for Silver plus $295 a year for Course Pass on November 3, 2026, or $494 a year. Third-party software such as GSPro requires Gold at $599 a year plus the separate GSPro license. SKYTRAK's Core (FS) plan was $299.99 a year. Square Golf lists no subscription and uses credits for course play.
Are these the same as a launch monitor?
No. A launch monitor measures the shot. A package adds the enclosure, screen, projector and mat around it. To compare the monitors themselves, use the launch monitor roundup. For itemized room costs, use the cost guide.
